The person who doesn't care is the student. The teacher took the time to illustrate the problems of a piece of crap that normally would have been immediately round-filed.

I thought it was impossible because radiation was too high. I understand that you can survive x radiation for y time, or something like that, but down there was just too much.

as i understand it the "elephant's foot" is bad but it's actually some radioactive material mixed in with other stuff like glass, dirt, sand, melted metals and stuff like that ... still highly radioactive but it probably won't kill you to get that close if you keep it quick

the bad part is you have to climb through heaps of rubble left from the collapsed structure, and parts of that structure are seriously toxic because they took the brunt of the original explosion
