I just watched this. Best Star Trek movie since First Contact.
Remember, people, to forgive is divine. In other words, it ain't human.
Yeah, pretty impressive for a fanfic parody project.
Anyhoo, I watched Masters Of The Universe a couple of days ago. I've seen most of it in bits and pieces over the years but never complete from beginning to end. Overall, I think Star Wreck was better, and not by just a little.

Just saw The Raid: Redemption an action/karate movie from Jakarta (?). Some of the better fight/action sequences I've seen in a movie in a long time. However, that's really all there is to this movie. Just long acrobatic fights (though exhilirating to watch).
If you don't mind mindless action, purely for actions sake ,then this is the movie for you. I got tired of it after about 40 minutes. When the two brothers were fighting one of the main bad guys I was like "Just kill him already, for fucks sake!" as the fight seemed to go on, and on (and on).

Sometimes you just want to see a bad movie, so I watched Dead Snow. Nazi zombies, baby! Could have been better, could have used a set of boobs too, but it was just the bad movie I was looking for.

The Invasion
If you ever wondered what SyFy originals would do with a really big budget, this is it.
I decided to see for the "alien invasion" part, and finished it because of Nicole Kidman.

It was in that spirit that I pulled from my "Drive In Cult Classics" collection the promisingly titled The Stepmother.
From screening other movies in this collection I was expecting a fair amount of early '70s tawdry exploitation and boobs. Plus it had Claudia Jennings billed as a supporting actress AND a song nominated for an Oscar! I thought it couldn't miss.
It was a fairly boring mess.
One of those movies where the plot takes forever to get established--so it seems like there is two movies stitched together. Plot A takes the first half, plot B takes the second. There is a fair amount of boobs which is nice.
The nice surprise was that Larry Linville was a supporting actor.
Altogether not nearly as good as The Babysitter or The Teacher.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Yeah, I wish there was a movie about Goddo.

Indiscreet. Dreck tarted up as sophistication. Bergman and Grant were never worse.

I really liked the Julia Child sections of that movie. I ended up reading a copy of "My Life In France" because of it.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

I really liked it, too. How was the book?

It's a good read....it has details not in the movie and encompasses her entire time she had a home in France, up until she had to sell because her husband was in a nursing home.

God Bless America. Funny, violent, a bit preachy, with many, many moments of characters spouting off words that were obviously written for them by a wasted off writer/director. Very much like a political version of Dogma.
