I watched an Indie film called 'In A Day'. Not an award winner but not a waste of time.

That was fun flick.

I saw Sherlock Holmes and The Day The Earth Stood Still. I didn't care much for SH, but I've never been a fan of any SH flicks. I didn't expect much from The Day The Earth Stood Still, and I actually liked it. Keannu is still as hot as ever.

You're supposed to read books, not just watch them Shnicky.

I'm watching Unknown.
Had to shut it down part way through to get some shut eye, but I'll take it on again to find out who the bad guys are (although I suspect that they are all going to end up on the "good" side anyway).

The young woman that starred in it reminded me a lot of katie holmes, but unlike KH, she can act.
For a moment it almost gave me the creeps with the whole older man 16 year old girl thing, but her character makes it not so creepy.

It gets worse. You know it's based on a true story, right? The woman later said that while she was 16 the guy said he was in his late twenties but was actually somewhere around 40.

I'm glad I didn't know that beforehand. I'm not sure I wouldve watched, and I'm glad I did. It was good.
Oh and Mars Attacks is a great flick! Haha!

Just watched a director's cut of Battle Royale. Interesting. I always thought the original was very powerful because it was loaded with mighty metaphors, but now I think that few if any of those metaphors were intended. Kind of a disappointment, actually (and with one exception the added scenes didn't add much).

Iron Man 2.
Pretty good. Would've preferred a little less of the yap-yap-yap.

Easy Rider.
I'd forgotten how good it was -- and how very pessimistic. Though I still don't get why it's lauded as this towering classic.

The Duellists. Ridley Scott's first film. Quite nice ... you'd never know it was a low budget flick.

Just watched some of The Last Sentinel because it has Katee Sackhoff in it.
It's pretty bad and cheaply made. The war zone looked like they just towed in a couple of junked cars on an empty street and threw a bunch of paper around. I hope she made it pre-BSG (maybe that's how she landed that action role).
Does have a nice gratuitous semi-nude scene of her.

I watched 2012 just tonight. Fantastic movie, wish I'd seen it on the big screen though.

I saw Public Enemies and Pirate Radio this week, and I liked them both a lot.

if it's the one i'm thinking about it was made by a couple canadians and a buddy of mine helped finance it. when he died it became a hot commodity.
In his short life he'd only ever known
panic, fear, pain, darkness, pandemonium
in this hell that was his home
and 4th quarter expectations expedited their demise.

Gasland
A documentary on HBO about the natural gas industry.
Ever see someone put a flame into the stream of water coming from the kitchen sink faucet ...
and the water burns?
Yeah, this is an eye opening film.
