I don't remember if the phones do this, but if they're streaming, you get video of the thief as evidence, even if you don't recover the phones.

Also, it's glitter AND a stink bomb, which should make the thief throw away the box, so you can get higher quality video from the phones.

Rober did two things:
1) he hid the phones behind the structure holding up the spinner which spread the glitter while also didn't obscure the phones' camera views, and

2) there was an artificial fart spray which had a mechanism which pressed the button atop the spray 5 times then waited for some seconds before repeating that action again until the top of the box was slipped past the trip switches released by pulling off the top.

The combination would discourage almost anyone from leaving the the box in any enclosed space like a car in which I think Rober believed that most porch-thieves would open his "bomb".

"Pros and Cons of Life Outside Tokyo | Rural Japan".

To be sure: the Japanese definition of "rural" is different from that in the US. The city of Matsuyama on the smallest of Japan's 4 main islands is over a half-million in population. I think to draw a rough US equivalent would compare that city to a US city which is relatively isolated from mega-cities like the LA metro area or the East Coast corridor from Boston and Philadelphia, and about 1/3rd of Matsuyama's population, so I think Springfield, MO, or Jackson, MS. I do not know their local conditions so corrections accepted.

"How to Save Four Sea Turtles in the Middle of the Pacific Ocean".

Narration in Norwegian with English subtitles.

The pair came across a clump of trash and plastic netting floating on the surface which they thought they should collect when they saw the sea turtles caught within it.

The Overview Effect

'Overview' is a short film that explores this phenomenon through interviews with five astronauts who have experienced the Overview Effect. The film also features insights from commentators and thinkers on the wider implications and importance of this understanding for society, and our relationship to the environment.

That was a really good cover, but not the best PMJB cover I've heard. She does have the perfect jazz voice, though.

For a 15 minute film, it really packs it in. Highly recommended.

"THIS ATM WILL TRICK YOU! DIRTY TRICK EXPOSED (Honest Guide)"

Across much of Europe there are Euronet ATMs. If you are a local then it will act normally, but if you are a foreigner then they will try to cheat you in two ways:

1) the default amounts shown on the screen will be huge (in particular in the Czech Republic the largest amount is about the yearly income of an average Czech citizen), then

2) the on-screen conversion rate offered will be some percentage below the official rate, with that percentage varying inversely with the amount being withdrawn. On a thrown away receipt the video maker figured that by making a 1000 Czech crown withdrawal that person was cheated by about 35% due to the conversion rate.

There are some Czech banks which will do at least step 1.

Throat specialist Dr. Jackie Garnter-Schmidt in a TEDxPittsburgh talk explains how your body is acting normally when unexpectedly you are asked to give a presentation to a crowd.

If one is NOT used to such situations, one's body can react by trying to close off the vocal cords in an attempt to protect the lungs from anything other than air. As a result to this reaction, one's voice can become very thin to the point of resembling laryngitis, or squeak out in a much higher range than normal.

Near the end Dr. Garnter-Schmidt suggests trying an exercise which should help loosen the vocal cords.
