Man skates/skis across the frozen Lake Baikal.

He also made this video which focuses on the sounds the ice and snow made, sometimes while he was skating.

Along similar lines: National Geographic with videos of "Nordic skaters" on relatively thin black ice (YouTube videos at link).

Man glues together 42 K matchsticks into sphere, sets it alight.

Be sure to watch through the three views of the sphere aflame, taken from different angles from the starting point

"Gâteau Gato": "cat cake" which uses zoetrope effects to achieve animation.

Debunking Anti-Vaxxers

Not that they will listen, but the video shows the (non alternative) facts.

River scuba diver with metal detector finds iPhone, returns it to owner.

It was in an apparently water-tight carrying case that didn't leak even after 9 months in the water. The maker of that case really should get a (paid) testimonial.

That diver and his friends got a free lunch from the owner.

Here's a 21 minute film about the fire control system of the CF 100 fighter/interceptor from the 1950s. It's kind of obscure.

My dad is at his regular ten year AVRO reunion so we've been watching old AVRO company films.

Rednecks and Tannerite - a (Darwin award) winning proposition

(Warning, it's a tad graphic at points.)

Supposedly the guy is suing the maker of Tannerite, but legal experts agree he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

"The Early Animated Films".

On how the early animators--with Disney appearing at the end--created those films (at least those that still exist).

Zach Galifianakis makes an entrance on Conan O'Brien's show.

As one commenter noted: try not to read the title or see the starting thumbnail which rather spoils the fun.
