Portland made a weird promo for visitors from Japan.

"Odnarotoop" is roughly the anglicized version of the Japanese rendering of Portland in katakana (which is equivalent to italicization in Japanese) though spelled backwards (though I think it should have been "Potorando"). The YouTube video is linked at the above BoingBoing.net link because someone there provided an English translation.

The Animated Adventures of Firefly Teaser

Probably not an official thing. I'd say it's unlikely to ever happen.

Only way it'll happen. They'll have to get Nathan Fillion for voice.

"Bigfoot" spotted in bald eagle nest cam video.

As noted by the author: that camera is basically pointed straight down into the nest so its view of the probable bear on the ground is oddly angled.

Florence + The Machine and Hospice Austin teen sing Shake It Out

I would tag this NSFW, unless crying is cool with your coworkers.

Couldn't watch more than a few seconds because I just can't stand fingernails like that. Anything over 1/8 inch is too much.

That really should be marked NSFW due to the likelihood of inducing crying.

Also, that is awesome. I wish more people did stuff like that.

I don't like long fingernails, either, but she's really good at what she does, and her videos are usually about two minutes long.

The first few seconds of the video aren't anywhere near as good as what happens later.

Here's a video she was doing the same type of thing in when she had short fingernails.

William Shatner on turkey frying safety

Apparently the captain really wanted a deep fried turkey; a moister, tastier turkey.

To impress girlfriend, man jumps over short fence in Chinese zoo to tease sleeping giant panda, gets wrestled by bear. No sound but with mandarin Chinese subtitles.

Apparently both escaped without any injuries.
