Indy 5 is coming... IN search for the fountain of youth? maybe?

They should hire the guy that played Solo and be done with it.

Or they should do like James Bond and change the actor every decade.

Or let Dave Filoni turn it into an animated show.

After the fiasco that was the Crystal Skull, maybe we should let Indy retire to teach at the university?

even good franchises should be allowed to die

it's not nice to see them lying in bed, hooked up to machines, pumped full of drugs

let them end and start new ones

Unfortunately it is almost a franchise that wasn't.
By and large it was almost tailor-made to be a multi-film franchise with a new installment every 18 months.
Other than the 007, it was perfectly open for 10+ sequels.
Instead it had maybe two really excellent movies (first and third), and two generally poor ones.
I think one kiss of death was going too heavy handed with the supernatural stuff. It totally wasn't needed.
All they needed were good character developments, chases, a mystery to solve, villains to beat and treasure to donate to a museum.
imho the face melting or 1000 year old knights just lead to convenient endings--and limitations on sequels.

Is Shia LaBoef gonna be in it or are they gonna ignore that whole storyline?

in my view it's a pretty uneven franchise ... the first one was great, the second one was an embarrassment, the third had its moments (especially the opening), the fourth was so-so

it started because george lucas wanted to pay tribute to the old black and white serials he grew up with as a kid, and it mutated into a bunch of big-budget fan films

apparently neither he nor karen allen are going to be in it
