you make it sound like making highly successful shows is easy, and that profits are guaranteed

I guess this is what happens when a niche goes mainstream.

It'll be a while before I see most of them. I don't get the point of Wandavision.
After Endgame, Captain Marvel, and Guardians of the Galaxy I'm surprised there's not more cosmic Marvel stuff like Nova or bringing back Silver Surfer.

I'm kinda over Star Wars, there's been a lack of cool characters in the new stuff.

I can't keep up anymore. So many things I'd like to watch, but I have to prioritize, pick and choose. So I end up watching less stuff. Or it takes me forever to watch an entire season of anything.

And I just can't "binge watch". The most I watch in one day is 2 hours of whatever, one movie, or 2 episodes of something. Most days, it's one hour.

I'm kind of super-heroed out, as the stories are so formulaic and the action/fighting scenes tiresome.

The first one that flops will get the rest put on indefinite hold or cancelled, and the cycle continues.

i've always assumed that as well, but their formula seems incredibly solid

i think it would take more than one or two flops to bring it all down

personally i think the big vulnerability is the state of blockbusters in the post-covid world (if it arrives)

if the theatres don't fill up again, the genre is unsustainable ... streaming and rentals were meant to be dessert, not the main course

there's also the disastrous problem of what the lack of cinema income does to the industry's finances -- without those big fat grosses, a whole lot of people won't be getting paid

the whole launch schedule rests on a series of assumptions, and there's a good chance they're not valid
