And ended up increasing it by $20 a month. I wanted to add CMT, but it's part of the Sports package and it woulda been $30 a month more. However, if i upgraded to the highest plan which is every channel they offer and triple the internet speed, it was only $20 a month more. No brainer. I have all the channels now, but i have to wait til the new modem gets here for the faster speed.

Why would CMT be part of a sports package, it has absolutely nothing to do with sports.

I suspect there's some demographic crossover. Kinda like how NFL games have a lot of advertisements for pickup trucks and Viagra, but not so much organic food.

Or how about there's no overlap and the bundles are designed to extract as much money from you as possible?

I only pay for internet, the three TV shows that I want to watch are all available via web.

CMT actually airs a lot of sports. I guess that's why it was moved over.

They actually don't bundle with the intention that similar types of channels will all be together.

They bundle with the intention that the only way you'll be able to get the channels that you're likely to want is by buying multiple packages.

Which is why so many people are cutting the cord, they are tired of "their" hijinks.

So now we just get 47 different streaming services instead. Hijinks ensue.

I honestly stopped caring. I like watching things, but the amount of effort that it takes is just overwhelming.

I mean, I have Netflix, and I have Amazon, and I'll do a torrent search for 30 seconds. But, for example, I watched a bunch of people's life stories on YouTube yesterday, and that was completely free.

Ah, but the thing is they're fully separate. They can't afford to pad their service with wasteful content that nobody wants. Even Netflix is toning it down with their originals (or really just rebranding anime as originals) because they can't afford to produce so many series that nobody want to watch.

I've been a cord cutter since about 2012. Never looked back. I pay $60/mo for 200 down, 20 up, and fulfill my TV needs via YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and my personal PLEX server.

I’m the traditional system’s ideal customer: a willing consumer of a variety of live sports and willing to pay to participate.

I’ve looked into cord cutting but haven’t found a realistic method of getting the same content.

It's really annoying that SyFy, BBC and CBS have rolled out their own services.

If it's not on Hulu, I don't watch it.

except for GOT
If it's not downloadable via eMule I don't bother. I download at work and bring home on a drive. Youtube can be neat but I have to be at work to use it.

Completely cut the home internet/cable/landline services in 2008.

Are you getting HD or SD resolution?
Around my area Xfinity charges extra for HD.

around here SuddenStink calls their feed HD.... yet it's not 1080. it's 720.
gotta love deceptive as fiddlesticks advertising. These country fiddlesticks all went to Walmarts to buy up the last years model on sale this year 4K smarter than the purchaser TVs.
and they all say the picture sucks when they watch something besides sports.

I'd love a 4k screen for my computer but would never bother getting a 4k TV. What would be the point? There is practically no where to get 4k content.

but they won't broadcast even 1080. but I can find plenty 1080 and 4K to watch out there.
