I thought Disney already owned Time/Warner and Universal who collectively own Marvel and DC, all under the safe lock and key and protected from all copyright infringement for...ever by the Trilateral Commission.

Disney owned Marvel already, but the X-Men license was owned by 21st Century Fox, and I guess it didn't revert as long as they kept making X-Men movies.

Ok so this will have to go here.

Variety story on Univision selling Gawker/Gizmodo and Onion the a venture capital gang. I was surprised that...
Quote:
A Univision rep said that all employees of GMG and The Onion will be joining G/O Media. A spokesperson for Great Hill didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry about whether any layoffs are expected with the change in ownership. According to the Writers Guild of America East, which represents 233 employees at Gizmodo Media Group and Onion, its members will continue to work under union-negotiated terms and conditions with Great Hill’s acquisition.
