Been reading the books while I watched The Magicians. The show is nothing like the books but they still manage to tweak in bits from them.

Just read a reference to Dragon Porn.

I saw the 1st episode of The chilling adventures of Sabrina.

I liked it. But only being familiar with the previous show with Melissa Joan Hart, and the tv cartoon, not the comics, I have these comments

Dark and gritty? ok, I guess. I like dark and gritty stuff.

Not a fan of the new Aunt Hilda, I liked the previous one, and, why did they make her SO british?

Witches here are Satan worshippers. Is that from the comic? I know it's historically a thing, heck, last week a priest in Europe decided to burn Harry Potter books, but Sabrina from the archie comics?

Missy is there! :D I mean Michelle Gomez.

Salem the cat didn't talk. He should talk and be sarcastic and sassy all the time.

Having said all that, I still want to watch more and see where it goes.

Yeah, the comics went Grimdark a while back, this is following suit.

It's actually in a shared universe with Riverdale (also based on the comics.)

Wife and daughter tried watching it with the Boys. It got too creepy for them and they quit it after about episode three or so.
I'd like to finish it someday, myself.

I want to see where they take the second season, if it ever comes out.

Ultraman (Netflix)...anime continuation of the original Ultraman series featuring an older Hayata, who's memory of Ultraman has been lost, and his son. I watched the Godzilla movies and they were...well interesting...not as fun as the rubber suits or new CGI movies but the look was still impressive. The story was a bit high nihilistic sci-fi. The Ultraman anime looks more fun because it has recognizable human characters on Earth.
Killing Eve (second series) Villanelle is tracking Eve back to London after surviving being stabbed. Looks good.

NUMB3RS. Originally on CBS for 6 seasons (2005-2010), currently can be seen on H&I cable channel (short for "Heroes and Icons") with 9 episodes shown in order on Fridays starting at 8 am PT through 5 pm.

I can recall liking this show a lot, although at the time when NUMB3RS was originally shown I did not have any device which could reliably record the show being limited to only a primitive VCR (and even then all too often I would find that the scheduled programming had been replaced by college basketball playoffs).

David Krumholtz plays Charlie Eppes whose past includes having attended Harvard starting at 14 and going on to gain advanced degrees in mathematics. As the series starts Charlie is now a young professor at CalSci (a thinly disguised Caltech--indeed many exteriors for the CalSci campus were actually Caltech buildings) who is drawn into crime analyses due to his older brother Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) who is the head of a violent crimes unit within the FBI's Los Angeles office.

I have no idea about how often such esoteric math might be usable by the FBI, but I do like the trouble that the series creators and writers put in to simplify the more advanced concepts, and the obsession by some of the characters to solve some of the problems is mostly implied.

While this is an episodic crime drama where a given story continues only to that episode's end, there are a number of storylines surrounding the Eppes family which carry on throughout the series.

Incidentally the current run of NUMB3RS will be ending this coming May 3rd BUT H&I will be restarting the sequence by showing the pilot episode at 4 pm PT on that day so you might want to hold off until then to begin watching.

I just started watching Catfish, and it's a lot more interesting than you might think. One episode was about a young woman whose photos from MySpace dating back 9 years had been stolen to create fake fake profiles on MySpace and then it ramped up on Facebook even going so far as to use her name. The main one that started it all created a lot of havok in her life.

Let me confirm that at least for now H&I plans to continue with NUMB3RS on Fridays.

My DVR listing now includes Friday May 10th and shows that H&I will show more of season 1 of NUMB3RS on that day.

A.P. Bio.

It's like a live action version of Bojack Horseman. Usually the flawed main character is relatable in some way, but this guy is just a wreck. Not sure how much longer I'll be willing to watch this.
My staff urged me to watch It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Man-child bro-humour gets tired pretty fast but these guys do it well and even go beyond. Danny DeVito, oiled up, sweaty, disgusting, armed, and naked is a welcome addition to any scene.

Babylon 5.
When B5 came out it was a busy time of my life, I was married, full time day job and a demanding side gig of DJing that kept me from watching much TV and when I would catch an episode on TV I couldn't make heads or tails out of it.
But I have been bingeing on it the last week or so and now I see what a great show it was/is.
B5's long story arch is perfect for streaming and equally terrible for someone who could only catch it sporadically back in the bad old days.
I am almost done with season 3 and am really digging it.

When you get to the end of season 4, try to remember that the show was threatened with cancellation. It makes season 5 kind of weird. Still good, though, just weird.

Okay, just binged the first two seasons of Preacher.

Good show. Honestly, whatever prop team was finding computers for these characters deserves a raise. Quincannon playing QBert on his C64, the travel agent with her Mac 512k, then the Grail people with their Macbooks... it was beautiful.

Oh yeah, cool story too, although not a lot in common with the comics.

I finished off B5, ya it got a bit screwy for a bit but I feel they got back on track well and finished things up well.
Now, on to The Expanse...
I finished off Always Sunny, season 13 with Mac's dance that brought Frank to tears.

The show is pretty good-it does a good job in leading to from episode to episode, and the characters are quite engaging.
While I have always found Linda Cardillini to be an excellent actress (and my eye always drawn to her), I have to say that Applegate has used this series as a means to show far more acting talent than I had ever expected, she is doing a great job.
Her character is hard to like in some ways --a fairly well to do hard edged somewhat fashionable southern Californian real estate agent--but due to her circumstances and her vulnerabilities you pull for her.
My wife and I finished it (well first season) last night. It was a decent enough season ender in that it resolves much of wheat occurred in the episodes but creates a new, pretty complicated storyline for a subsequent season. Which kind of reminds me of other series where I think they might be better off just doing a single season (House of Cards, Stranger Things).
