I'm talking actual cards. Physical cards. The kind you hold in your hand.

I must confess it's been awhile, but I used to love playing:

Euchre
Hearts

Oh, and uncouth individual ... always a blast with a bunch of friends.

How's about you folks?
Phase 10.
UNO.
Mille Bornes.

All excellent games, Phase 10 is great and MILLE BORNES IS stick fiddling AMAZING!

Hearts is good, as is Texas Hold'em.

Holy crap, Mille Bornes! I haven't seen that one in a million years.

And I played many an Uno game as a lad. And for several days riding the Trans-Siberian Railway.

I still have the 70s set my parents (mom?) owned as a teenager. Good god, what a great game.

Hearts & Spades. Euchre has always annoyed the hell out of me, but it's huge in Indiana and it seems like that's all we ever played while I lived there.

Also, I'm addicted to Blackjack, but obviously only play that at casino.
GO FISH!

uhm... Mille Bornes is cool. I had it for the Mac... in... pre OS X. But I've played it with real cards.

I never got UNO.

Spades. Official game of the armed forces (practically).

I want to learn contract bridge, though.

Most of the card games I've been playing lately are also drinking games. uncouth individual, fiddlesticks the dealer, up the river down the river, etc.

I also enjoy Texas Hold 'Em, which I am really, really bad at.

I used to be able to do the magic trick where you can make cards disappear and reappear out of and into your hands (a staple for a lot of magic pros) but I seem to have lost the dexterity required due to a lack of practice or carpal tunnel, or both.
Alexander Supertramp this was uncalled for.

Magic: The Gathering.

For awhile I was ranked in the top 50 in Oregon. I wish I still played on occasion.

ROOK!

also, Rummy, Spades, 5 Card Draw

We used to take two Uno decks mixed together, and play as fast as you can. Lots of laughs.
I havent played Mille Bornes since I was about 12, but I remember it fondly.

This plus Spades, Cribbage and Rabbit (3 man version of Euchre). uncouth individual was our drinking game of choice if dice weren't available.

I used to play uncouth individual but I just got tired of all the crap.

uncouth individual has to give his two best cards to the top guy and gets the top guy's two worst cards in return; deputy uncouth individual exchanges one card with the deputy head guy; middle guy does no trading.

Played that for like an entire school year each day at lunch. Longest streak was someone being "el Presidente" for 54 times in a row. We had the "you win 3 times in a row, you can make a rule" bit too.

Oh yeah, uncouth individual is a fun game. So is Apples to Apples. I have to admit I gave up drinking games awhile back.
