Not until Mario, Zelda and Metroid get there too. Me thinks the Big N is safe.

After seeing how Mario Kart for Wii works. An iPhone version would kick ass.

Well, I believe the iPhone has Crash Bandicoot racing and CroMag Rally. I've played both, CroMag on the Mac and Crash racing on the PS1. I'm not the biggest fan of that kind of racing game but both are good.

Those are the closest thing to Mario Kart you'll ever get on the iPhone. I doubt a nintendo game will ever make it to the iPhone.

Close, but no cigar

The PSP maybe, but the DS still has a ridiculously large installed base.

Googleing install base and unit sold. The iPhone might reach 20 million worldwide by years end. The DS has that many just in the US.

But what are the relative growth rates? I'll bet the iPhone is growing way faster.

It's been a busy couple of months for the mobile PowerVR gurus at Imagination Technologies. First the company got picked to handle the polygon-shuffling duties in Sony's PSP2 (which may or may not be actually happening), and has now received a $5 million cash infusion from Apple -- in exchange for a measly 3.6 percent of its soul. What does it all mean? As much as we'd love to fling out crazy speculation about an Apple / Sony hybrid iPSP or hardware support for a mobile 3D operating system, we're putting our money on the most sensible explanation: a next-gen iPhone with even more emphasis on games. Place your bets now, folks.
