After getting to level 50 on my last game, I started over with a new character.

Found out there's more to the thieves' guild than that penny-ante crap you get at first. I might try that.

Well I reached Whitefalls and found out there's a bounty out on me. Paid the 5GP and all was well but I didn't have to. The guards didn't think 5 gold was worth their time.
Let that be a lesson to you. Leave the chickens alone!

NO! I reloaded after the chicken. So that didn't count. I think this was from killing the old witch and stealing a bunch of her stuff. However there wasn't anyone around but whatev'.
You're still very early in the game. The list of things you can do is vast. I'm on my second playthrough, I'm at level 30 and I'm still finding a ton of new quests. I've reunited a dog with his disgruntled master and presently I'm chasing a serial killer.
Dammit! I got so excited when I picked up a stray dog as a companion. I thought, "Dogmeat is back!"

But then I accidentally killed him. I feel so guilty.

YouTube user FancyPants has created a mod that replaces dragons in Skyrim with “Macho Man” Randy Savage. It also includes The Trammps – Disco Inferno (ie. “Burn, Baby Burn”) and Macho Man’s signature “YEAHHH!!!!” before every blast of fire.

This is incredible.

I don’t play Skyrim, but if I did, I’d turn all the dragons into “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

So, how all is it different from Oblivion? I've heard just bits and pieces, like the absence of the conversation minigame which I honestly don't get in the first place, of course the dragons, and bigger world, but what else is different?

graphics, I found less game ending glitches. shouts. knee arrows, etc.

Linda Carter! I'll be damned.

Astrid had the best voice.

Goddammit, Mother...FU!!!!!!!!!!!

QUIT! KILLING! MY! HORSES!

Level 20 and on my third horse already. First the stick fiddler won't stay where I parked it. So I suffer from 'where the hell did I park the car?' every time I go looking for him. Secondly, STOP horsey STOP! Stop running into battle. I need you to carry my fat ass back home after clearing out this *insert whatever here* when I'm over encumbered. Finally to all you uncouth individuals I'm trying to kill, a piece of advice. Maybe you'd live longer if you attacked me and not the stick fiddling horse. Ok not really but still leave the horse out of it.

So yeah biggest uncouth individual with Skyrim has been bot (follower) control. Can't tell the horse to stay. Can't whistle for it to come. Tell the house jarl to stay but and she don't. In sneak mode and the dog takes off. Stop, dammit, follow MY lead.

Ironically, nearly all of these were problems with the early Morrowind companions, and most of this stuff had been worked out already. I'm surprised Bethsoft didn't look at some of the better companion mods and take some notes.

Another annoying/funny thing is the dog tanks better than the horse does.

I like that I can fast travel over loaded with the horse. The cherry on top would've been the ability to call your horse if it's near by. A whistle would've been really cool.

Yeah, like in Red Dead Redemption.

Anyway, become an assassin and you'll get a badass horse that will charge headlong at dragons and not get killed.

Poll! What system is everybody playing it on? I'm kinda leaning towards PS3, since it's the cheapest on Amazon right now, and my laptop would probably have a meltdown if I tried to run it.

For being an early 09 MBP the game setting thing suggested I run on Medium settings and it runs lag free. It's not like I was expecting to run on the Ultra High setting group.

Another neat idea would've been saddle bags or some container to store stuff on your horse.

I'm playing on the 360. In hind sight the PC would've been nice. However playing on the 360 is making me play it straight up. On the PC I'd be tempted to use the console to artificially tweak the game to my favor. ;)

Again more frustrations with bots. I've ended up telling dog to stay home after killing him accidentally several times on one quest forcing reloads. He just runs head long into battle. Whole time I'm yelling at him to 'stop dammit we're being sneaky'.

Alright another poll! What level were you when you completed * quest?

::SPOILERS::

Currently I'm at/around lvl 28.

Last night I finally got around to attending the party for Diplomatic Immunity (second quest in Act II of the main story line). Finished it and turned in. The next part has you travel to Riften. Instead of continuing with the main line I've opted to do the Thieves Guild line.

There's a lot of that going around. I'm like half way through the Companion quests and College of Winterhold quests. With a lot of other side quests and a couple Daedric quests completed.

Oh and I'd like to say the Daedric artifacts I've received so far are bad ass. Jr wants Dawnbreaker (so far my primary sword) so bad. "Hey dad were'd ya get that cool sword. I want one." "Do the Breaking Dawn Quest for it."

Kinda worried that I'll hit the level cap before finishing the main story.

What about bugs and glitches? Anyone care to list out some they've run into?
First big one for me was the 'door won't open with right combo and claw'. Tried: the save, reload. Nope. Save, reload and exit. Nope. save, reload, exit and fast travel. Nope. Everything I could find online to fix that bug didn't work. I thought I was done and would have to start over. Then I tried save while the combo was spinning and that worked after the reload.

Last night after the party when I left a dragon attacked. Landed once, one dragon and I attacked. Then took flight, while aiming at it with my bow it split into two dragons. Both landed at the same time. Both took damage at the same time. Killed both at the same time and got 2 souls and 2 corpses to loot. Every odd but I liked it! Almost made up for the other bugs.

I've encountered plenty of bugs. The White Phial quest crapped out on me, as did the Mage College quest. Plus I was fighting a dragon once when suddenly it started flapping madly all over the sky.

Also I was indifferent to the main storyline ... I just didn't find it engaging. Finally finished it to get the damn dragons off my back, around ... oh, level 30 or 40 or something like that.
I can never start the quest to buy the home in the stormcloaker capital even through I completed the empire vs cloaked quest and sided with the clockers. The stupid Jarls aide just keeps saying their has been an incident and no matter how many hours I wait in the city the stupid event to start the quest to get the house won't start.
Slaughter everyone.

Alright, after roughly 6 hours of Skyrim, here's my observations:
1. They took a couple things from Fallout 3, namely the VATS slow-mo kills and telling if a chest or body is empty before you loot it. Don't mind that though, it's handy.

2. You level up way faster than in Oblivion, and it's way more obvious how you actually do it.

3. Only had one glitch so far, my character kept moving in one direction even though I wasn't moving the stick. had to shout to stop it. deff getting the 1.4 update real soon.

Back stabbed a dragon over the weekend for 30X damage. It took off! I was like WTF? Did the same thing acting all crazy in the sky. Then did a crash landing into the ground, breathed once, flopped on the ground a bit and finally died. When it was over I LOL'd! Thinking 'damn dramatic Hollywood death scenes'.

Since last post. Level 47, sneak was first perk to hit 100. Got married. Finished Thieves Guild and Companion quest lines and currently working on Dark Brotherhood.

Combat is kinda lame now. Sneak in, backstab, loot, done.
Yeah, once you hit the high levels the fun kind of goes away. Just not challenging anymore

Number 3 done. On to number 4.

FFS I swear I park them in safe spots. Well #3 lasted the longest. I am getting better/smarter at keeping them alive.

Stole a horse only to have mine die.

Here's how it went. Got a quest to steal a horse. Head to Black Briar cottage or something like that to steal the horse. As I neared got off mine and walked in. Killed all the mercs that attacked me, looted the cottage and was ready to steal the horse. Before I did I went back to mine and rode it to the stable. Parked it in the stall next to the horse I was about to steal. Stole horse, dropped it off to the guy, got paid and fast traveled back to parked horse. Gone. Simply gone. Looked around for corpse. Gone. The game ate my stick fiddling horse. Reloaded, tried a couple different things. End result was always the same. Like as soon as I stole the horse, mine was a gonner too. I guess she did care if I rode another.

I just upped my normal speed so I do not need a horse.
So I just got shadowmere and she looks cooler than she did in Oblivion but unlike her previous incarnation she died? WTF
