While I was there, a kid about 16-17 years old drove into the lot in kind of a ratty white 280Z. While I was standing around with the dog drinking some bad coffee, he came up to me, and ...

I didn't look at the code, because I had a feeling that it was just a morass of unmaintainable spaghetti that was on its way to a critical mass of becoming unusable, but at least now I know that's the case.

We have a set of Henckels pots and pans that we bought through Costco when we found out our 18/10 stainless farberware from college (same as the stuff Geesie posted) didn't work on our induction stove. We have a small collection of Le Creuset (stock pots, dutch oven, and kettle), and some cast ...

My particular headlights are dimmable.
That's the point of my headlights. LED is just the technology they use.

I absolutely loathe LED headlights.
I'm glad that although my current car is high tech, it still uses cheap incandescent, easily replaced bulbs.

Ah, Apple. STILL screwing people over on RAM and storage after all these years.
No, 8GB is not nearly enough. 16GB is the absolute floor for anything that isn't an embedded machine, and even that is starting to cause problems. That said, it does look like a decent machine overall.

I would hope that the scarcity problems manifesting in 2026 would put pressure on software to maybe stem the bloat a touch...
But no, instead we get to wonder how 8GB (about 6x more RAM than I had storage in the first machine I built) is inadequate.
