I HAD A BIG IPHONE ERROR!

It was off and I tried to turn it on. First it wouldn't start, then it said it needed recovery so tried that, and recovery failed. I had plugged my iOS 26, iPhone SE 2nd edition from 2020 to my Mac, because I have a backup, but before I tried anything, it started by itself, I was able to enter my passcode and it seems to be working.
Very scary.
I am going to update the backup now.

It's terrifying when it seems like a phone isn't going to start.

I got a "bug fix" iOS update yesterday, maybe just an unrelated coincidence. My iPhone seems to be working as expected, but now I am afraid to fully turn it off again.

Why do you turn it off? I've never once had a use case, outside of phone replacement (where the old one goes into retirement).

I very rarely do turn it off, but I did that time. I don't exactly remember the reason, but I think something was acting weird so I tried the old "turning it off and back on again"... and this time that did NOT help.
Anyway, things seem back to normal. But, turning the phone off shouldn't be a problem. This was the first and only time ever I get a a terrifying issue like that on my iPhone. My iPhone has been more reliable and stable that any Mac ever.
Again, this is a 2020 iPhone SE, with the latest, but crippled (Not fully featured), version of iOS.

The thing about a GPS tracker is that it works because the phone company knows your exact location all of the time.
Sometimes people don't want that.
And sometimes they're in a movie theater.
