500GB Time Capsule. Selling it because I moved to a 1TB Time Capsule. Never a problem with it. I have the original CD, manuals, etc, as well as the generic "Refurbished Product" box apple shipped it in. It has 802.11N, but is not dual-band.

Original iSight. Includes the original box, cables, manuals. The adhesive stand has not been used, so it should be able to adhere where you put it.

El Gato EyeTV Hybrid with analog and ClearQAM tuner. Includes EyeTV 3.0 software.

El Gato Turbo.H264. The original one.

Anyone interested? This stuff goes to eBay in a few days, if not. Make me an offer. :)

How much for the iSight?
Looks like they run $55-80 on eBay. $55 shipped?

Lemme check my financials to make sure I've got $55, but that sounds like a fair price. Do you take PayPal?

Yes please! [stricken from the record]

It's a bad idea to post your email address in public. I'd PM it to Dan instead.

I'm thinking about the elGato stuff because I'd like to set up my G5 to run myTV but I'll need to research if they'll work for that use.

Let me know asap. :)
How much for the ElGato Hybrid?
It looks like they run $70+ on eBay. It may be moot if you don't plan to use the EyeTV software, but the Turbo.264 runs only about $20. So let me know if $70 shipped for the EyeTV works, or $85 for both.
Time capsule ? How much ? Do you ship to kanuckistan?

I still haven't got the iSight I paid for back in January...

I sent a PM which got no response...

MA4L, no offense, and I realize I was slow to send you the funds, so I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt here, but after a couple unanswered PM's on the subject, I'm about ready to file a complaint with PayPal. Maybe this thread will get your attention, so I'm posting in it before I do that.

Did this ever get resolved?

I opened a dispute with PayPal, and he responded to that and promised to get it shipped, and then...more nothing. I have one more week or so to escalate it to a claim, which I'd hate to do, but it's looking like I'm going to have to at this rate.

My first thought, for some reason, was that he had died.

According to the records, he last logged on to the forum yesterday. Smells fishy, Dan.
lol, no, he's definitely alive and well.
It's pretty disheartening to see that someone we've been posting with for a while would do this, and i hope there's more to this than we're seeing, but from the peanut gallery, it looks like dan was ripped off.

macaddict4life: if you just got busy and procrastinated, or there's some other silly reason why he didn't get the iSight, why don't you just say so? Why ignore him and let it escalate to a Paypal dispute?

The box from MA4L just showed up, with the iSight in it, as advertised. It seems to be missing one of the standard mounts (specifically the one for an iMac G4 that I want to attach this to) but I can probably work around it using the laptop-style mount.

Apparently he sent it a few days ago it but did not communicate to me (I had requested that he give me a tracking number when he shipped it in our PayPal dispute discussions) that he had done so, so I had no idea it was enroute. As soon as I verify that everything is in working order I'll close the PayPal dispute without escalating to a claim.

I'm annoyed that it took so long to get it shipped (though admittedly it took me about a week to pay him after I promised to, so I'm willing to cut him some slack in this regard) but the communication here really stunk and two months is a long time. In the end, though, I did get it, so I can report that I have not been ripped off, and if you guys buy his other items, you'll probably get them, it just might take forever.

The PayPal dispute was a conversation with him, not an argument. He was always cordial, but not always responsive. I don't mind delays and understand that sometimes life just gets in the way, but communication is of the essence in making deals go smoothly, and the communication I had here was just not good enough. That's something you need to work on, MA4L. You can't take someone's money and not talk to them for two months and also not ship what they paid for.

So, in summary, I'm pleased that this issue has been resolved, but I'm not really pleased with the way the transaction went. MA4L seems to be trustworthy but not reliable. If you buy his other available trinkets, don't use the PM system on this forum, because his spam filter throws them out before he sees them. Instead, email him directly, and do so frequently to make sure he stays on top of it, and you'll most likely get what you paid for.

It works. The picture is weirdly crooked but I doubt MA4L could have somehow caused that.
I'd still like to know what took so long.

And just for the record, I'm pretty sure I've PMd him and vise versa without a problem.

Just telling you what he told me.
First off, while I already apologized to dan, I'd like to repeat that here. Sorry about that.

To be honest, I just dropped the ball. I forgot about the iSight, assuming I sent it when I sent off user's EyeTV. Didn't even think about it until I heard from Dan through PayPal. My spam filter did decide MacStack PM notices are spam, which is why I didn't get the notices (it decided the same about topic reply notices). I think I have that fixed now.

I've let Dan know that I will be sending him a partial refund for all the trouble, as I feel bad about the irritation and time this cost him.

Dan, crooked how? Is it still an issue? If you can try it on a second computer and it has the same issue, I will refund you all the money. It worked fine when I tested it, so please try one more machine before we write if off as broken. All of the original mounts are in there. I think the iMac G4 (the lamp-looking iMac, right?) uses the same mount as a laptop, the one that kind of screws in place. I just checked the photo, the mount was in place when I packed it.
Thanks macaddict4life. I wouldn't have bothered asking if this hadn't been made public. However, even if you did have trouble with PMs, I woulda thought you woulda checked the forum frequently for comments since you sold stuff thru it.
I would have... except I was relying on the email notices to let me know there were replies. I skip the marketplace most of the time.

I would have posted followup here sooner, but I wanted it resolved first.

Should you still be interested (unlikely I imagine), I can figure out pricing. I will ship there, but I'm leery of lying on customs forms. Also, in the interest of running another clean transaction (like happened for user), paying the shipping up front and the rest on receipt of the items works for me.

When the camera is erect straight, the picture is tilted a couple degrees. It's not a huge deal to me, really. As far as the mount is concerned, the laptop-style mount doesn't work on the iMac G4, because the lip around the iMac's screen isn't big enough. There's another mount for mounting the iSight on LCD displays, which glues to the back of the monitor. Based on some Googling I did, that was actually part of an accessory kit, though.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that iSight predated the iMac G4.

Actually, I know what you mean. No matter what mount I used, I recall the iSight being difficult to position and balance so the image was perfect. True for every iSight I ever worked with. If you wiggle the mount and the connection points you can get it lined up right.
How much and how would you set up the payment? Cod sucks.
After a quick eBay survey, 95+shipping seems fair. If that doesn't right to you, make me an offer in return.

No fancy setup, you would just PayPal me twice. Up front for shipping (once I find out how much it will be), and then again for the 95 when you get it.
