My plan this summer is to pick up an M5 Ultra Studio with ~ 96 GB of Memory and at least 2 TB of hard drive space to replace my aging Intel iMac (2020).

So what do you use besides Time Machine

Time Machine to a Synology for local backups, Backblaze for cloud backups. Select files/projects are backed up a third time (coding goes to GitHub, photos are backed up to iCloud, etc). Two is one and one is none™.

I have my original iBook SE (G3, the plastic clamshell ones that look like the old iMacs) as well as my original G5 Tower. All the machines after that were sold/given away; but those are sticking around.

I should boot them up sometime to see what a time capsule they are… if they still even start ...

I bought some for a series of flights I took a few years ago, and back when I would mow the lawn. Impressive noise cancelation. I currently don't have a need for them in my life (I have AirPods Pro 3s for when I'm out and about); but yeah - great tech.
